総合光学機器メーカー株式会社ビクセン（本社：埼玉県所沢市、代表取締役：新妻和重）は、株式会社大丸眼鏡商会（本社：福岡県久留米市）が行った、地元久留米市の小中学校への約5300個の日食グラス寄付に協力しました。

6月21日（日）は日本全国で、太陽が月によって隠される天文現象 “日食”を観察することができます。この日食を安全に観察するためのアイテム「日食グラス」を、福岡県久留米市に本社のある株式会社大丸眼鏡商会が地元小中学校に寄付するとのことで、株式会社ビクセンも協力をしました。
この寄付は、新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大により外出が制限され、体験学習機会が少なくなっている子どもたちに対して、家庭内で体験学習機会を作ることを目的としています。
