総合光学機器メーカー、株式会社ビクセン（本社：埼玉県所沢市、代表取締役：新妻和重）は、平城宮跡 （奈良県奈良市）にて8月19日（⾦）～21日（日）に開催される、「平城京天平祭 2022 夏 天平たなばた祭り」のコンテンツ「天平★星めぐり（星空観賞）」に協⼒します。

奈良時代、旧暦の7月7日、現在の8月ごろに、ここ平城宮で盛んに行われた祭を起源とする 「七夕」。現在、日本で行われている「七夕」は、奈良時代に遣唐使の山上憶良たちが中国から持ち帰った可能性が高い宮中行事の一つ「乞巧奠」(きこうでん)に、日本に古くから伝わる「棚機津女」(たなばたつめ)の祭りが結びつき、さらに「織姫と彦星」の物語が組み合わさったものです。万葉集にも織姫と彦星の恋物語が数多く詠まれており、「七夕」は多くの人々に親しまれてきました。

ビクセンが協力する「天平★星めぐり（星空観賞）」は、8月19日・20日・21日の3日間にわたり開催されます。今回もビクセンは奈良大学 天文部と協力し、参加者の方には七夕伝説物語や夏の夜空の解説を聞きながら天体望遠鏡で「天の川、織姫星、彦星」などを見て、平城宮跡の美しい夜空を観賞いただきます。
1300年前の人々が眺めたであろう夜空の星々に想いを馳せながら、「七夕」をお楽しみください。
